Velociraptor Vocal Chamber 3D print

My buddy Leon 3D modeled a velociraptor vocal chamber from Jurassic Park 3 (like I needed to tell you). I 3D printed and painted it for him.

Mixed Reality is Awesome!

I'm part of a team designing an app for Microsoft's Hololens. I made a comic strip about my opinion on mixed reality.

A Better Toothbrush Holder

I wanted a better toothbrush holder

So I designed one

I built it in 3D

I printed it in reality

I primed it and sanded it

I'm painting it to look like porcelain

Update: I switched to an electric toothbrush so my design became obsolete. Well, it was fun! :)

Making a Tim Biskup Sculpture v02

I took another stab at trying to turn a Tim Biskup drawing into a sculpture. This time I did the modeling (after a quick lesson by Leon.) It was fun and challenging.

The reason it is made up of blocky shapes is because this is a step in a process. Later, the detailing and smoothing will happen when it is made of wax and you carve it away.

The first print turned out well enough.

After some experimentation the 3D print melted beyond repair. I won't do that again!

I made some tweaks on the computer, printed it 25% bigger and painted it yellow.

On second thought, I think Robin Egg blue looks better.
